According to the leading mental health charity MIND one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. This means you will meet people who have a mental health problem regardless of your sector or speciality of practice. We also know that chronic physical health problems can trigger mental health issues and vice versa.
Despite the high prevalence of mental health problems there is sadly still much stigma associated with mental health and we all have an important role in changing this.
